The United States will defend Taiwan from any aggression from China. American President Joe Biden said this during a debate broadcast on CNN.
"We have a commitment on this," Biden said of the defense of Taipei from possible attacks by Beijing. "The US - he continued - has made a sacred commitment as regards the defense of NATO allies in Canada and Europe and the same goes for Japan, South Korea and Taiwan".
China responds to the US president, calling for caution and assuring that "there is no room for compromise" on Taiwan.
